For whom do you provide services?

Brother’s Keeper serves adults ages 18 and over who have graduated from high school and have one or more disabilities. At this time, participants must be ambulatory, capable of active participation, toilet trained, and not a danger to themselves or others. Each applicant goes through our application and admissions process to determine eligibility.

What services do you provide?

Brother’s Keeper provides full- and part-time educational and enrichment day services for adults with special needs.  Participants receive training in a skilled and nurturing environment, where needs are met by a trained and caring staff. How are you funded?

Taking no government funding, Brother’s Keeper is financially supported in the following ways: participant tuition, private and corporate donations, fundraising events, and grants and foundations.

Are there scholarships available?

No, we do not provide scholarships at this time.

What are your hours of operation?

Brother’s Keeper is open year-round, each weekday from 7:15 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. We have some planned time off each year for various holidays and closures. We follow the recommendations from a local school system for weather delays or closures.

Where are you located?

Brother’s Keeper is generously housed inside of Boones Creek Christian Church, 305 Christian Church Road, Johnson City, TN 37615. One day, we hope to have a building and campus of our own that can serve our adults with special needs.

Do you provide transportation?

At this time, we do not provide transportation for our participants’ arrival and departure. We utilize vans for our community outings, driven by staff members.

What types of work can volunteers do?

Brother’s Keeper thrives with the help of our loyal volunteers! We often utilize individuals who bring in their skill set, from things like yoga and art, to dance and various therapies. We also are always in need of loving individuals to add to our substitute teacher list. For more information about volunteering, please contact us.

What are your current needs?

Thank you for asking! Our needs are great, and they range from paper products to technology to recreation equipment. We also benefit greatly from the skills of our wonderful volunteers.
